Due to the flexibility of mounting used for attached the alternator control unit to the right-hand front suspension turret, the unit can be damaged by an electrical short-circuit.
Excessive downward pressure applied to the top of the control unit can cause a resistor which is attached to the rear of the unit, to contact its mounting plate and so cause an electrical short.
To avoid this possibility, please attach a strip of suitable tape to the mounting plate (as shown in the accompanying diagram) during pre-delivery and/or subsequent scheduled sevicing periods.
The time evolved to do this minor modification is minimal.
