ACR Alternators- All Models

October, 1972

Joseph Lucas North America, Inc. have advised that it is more practicable to check the regulator voltage at the battery rather than at the alternator. Please note, however, that the setting at this point should be 13.6 – 14.4v which allows for permitted voltage drop in this charging circuit.

When checking the regulator voltage, the charging current must not exceed 10 amperes.

If the settings can be checked at the alternator, then the original figures 14.0 – 14.4v should continue to be used.
