Sticky enough, and the steering is noticably lighter than with the 165SR14s I had been running. And I like the idea of British rubber on a British car.

fit perfect on my 1969 BGT with wire wheels. No rubs, but they are close in the rear. Very good rubber, compared to the skinny tires that were on when I bought the car.
Balancing them might be fun though!!

I'm running a wire wheel axle with 4 bolt hubs in order to run this wide of a tire. Only rubs a tiny bit under full suspension compression and full wheel lock in front (stock fenders). I've run a Porsche 911 in the twisties on these meats.

WOW!! The new tires are extremely sticky. Road noise is also down tremendously, and even the steering feels lighter even though these tires are wider. Since I got them mounted with a proper balance job, all traces of wheel shake are gone right up to ~ 90 mph. Combined with the new sills and freshly rebuilt suspension, the car feels like its on rails.

Outstanding. Tread width much improved over the 155's. Dunlops came on the car but had tubes and had problems. I've run Michelins since, but it is nice to have British tyres back on.

Before picking this wheel & tire combo - I did a lot of research. After at what other folks had done I started looking around & found these 14x6 alloy wheels on ebay. FYI - This page was a great help by the way in making my final selection. Anyway the plan was to fill the wheel wells with as much rubber as possible without any modifications to the body. As luck would have it the wheels had the right amount of back space to allow for these 195/70 s to fit into place just fine. Between that & the lowering of my 78 B (2 F/1.5 R) has a aggressive look and road feel she was missing before. Feel free to email me if you have any questions or want to see some pics.

Great tire, the stock size is definitely the way to go. The price was very reasonable and the quality has been top notch. If you can't find them locally, just order them from British Wire Wheel, as they have them in stock.
